Did you know that hdiutil could be used to reclaim unused space in a sparse disk image? I thought they just grew inexorably until they hit their ceiling. Afterward I learned all kinds of crazy things by perusing the hdiutil manpage: disk image segmenting, images that can't be browsed in the Finder, changing formats on the fly, a tangled nomenclatural history. For a manpage, it's remarkably well-written. 02:58PM «
