Wouldn't it be more historically accurate to write a Fortran interpreter or
fort2perl translater, then feed it some random copy of Crowther & Woods's
stuff that has been ported back and forth between minis and mainframes a dozen
times over the last couple of decades?
Somehow I don't think the thrill of Adventure is in the maze of twisty little
passages, all alike; rather it's the creepy delight running code that is
connected by a chain of dozens or hundreds of machine translations with the
first non-trivial program you ever looked at --- which, naturally, you were
porting from wherever it was last run to whatever system your intro CS class
was using for homework exercises.
