Actually, just because there is a module does _not_ mean you should use it.
Maybe the overhead of the module is more than you want to deal
with(unlikely, but possible), maybe your sysadmin won't allow it(you were
lucky to get perl.exe on the server), maybe you just want to write it
yourself for the fun and education of having done it.   If you are on a
tight deadline, definitely use the module if possible, otherwise.....
