Well they're exactly what I expected... but I might point out that using 
perl-mode in Emacs makes the error abundantly clear at the time of creation 
the moment you hit <TAB> to indent the second line of the loop.  (And I'm 
sure there are other environments that do the same thing.)

Some features of an IDE are worthwhile... this one has saved me countless 
hours...
