As often happens, I said "wouldn't it be neat if ..." and ended up volunteering. Such is the Perl community. So, I'd like to announce POLECAT - Perl One-Liner Eclectic CATalog. It's current home is http://history.perl.org/oneliners/ and there is almost nothing there. What I'd like from you folks are oneliners that are edifying, entertaining, and worthy of archiving for ever to be held in awe by generations of Perl programmers to come. I'm in the process of pawing through Usenet archives looking for good candidates. Oh, there's a catch. It would be really nice if you could include a description of what it is doing, and, if it is not immediately obvious, how it is works. I have one example up on the site, so you can see the sort of thing that I have in mind.
