When you run ./Configure before you build Perl you can give whatever answer you want to the questions Where do you want to put the public architecture-dependent libraries? Pathname for the site-specific architecture-dependent library files? You can also have these questions have appropriately specific defaults if you answer the earlier question "What is your architecture name" with the specific architecture, but I don't know if that would adversely affect anything else.
