Check for the presence of Berkeley DB. As I discovered when building Perl for our Solaris box, if Berkeley DB is not found when you build Perl, DB_File is not built. Except for a few tests failing, there is no indication that DB_File was not built. Than I went and found Berekeley DB and what ho! I had to rebuild Perl.
