[MacPerl-AnyPerl] RPC with MacPerl?

Hi there.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to start with trying to
do RPC with MacPerl (or any perl, really)? I've found some modules on
CPAN that do some RPC stuff, though I've not really tried them yet. If
anyone has any experience with this sort of thing, I'd appreciate any
feedback, commentary, suggestions, etc.

For what it's worth, I've got some GIS software (ArcView, if it matters)
that can be configured to serve via RPC, and I'd like to dabble with
writing RPC clients in MacPerl to interface with it.
