What I would like to do is to send a cgimail from a cgi script (not necessarily MacPerl) just before displaying the html page. I currently have a recursive perl script that builds an html page and I want to have it send an email to the client to tell them the file exists and to inform them of some of the variable-data included there. I want to trigger the cgimail internally, rather than as a post function of the form on the html page. does this make sense? I do have a nice sample of cgimail from my host, but it is triggered by the typical form action.
