[MacPerl-AnyPerl] exchaning data (again)

hi again
i posted yesterday the message below and i have checked the FAQ (can´t work
it out from that) but i´m in an akward position; i´m sitting on a windows
machine (at work) and need to upload my perl script as a cgi to a
unix-server. can anyone show me a very simple working example if i have
these two files:
thanks
allan

1.txt:

hello
world
here is the old date
today is the 9th of july
more stuff

2.txt:

9
10
11
12

i just need to know the basic procedure of how to get the figure "10" from
2.txt into the fourth line of 1.txt (so it reads: "today is the 10th of
july")

(org message:)
hi
this should be easy ..
i have two files.
the first is about 1000lines long and have at certain points (which are
easy enogh to find) some figures which i have to update (substitute)
every day.
the second file contain only the new figures which i have split up with
one figure on each line.
how do i get those new figures into that first file?

hope you´re not bored
cheers
allan
