Roger, Don't know of a Perl solution handy at the moment, but I do know of one that is free and is written in Java. If you know Java, you might want to check the code out for some ideas. The application itself is specialized in that it takes the HTML files produced by the standard version of the javadoc program and converts the long file names to be compatible with the Mac.
