DLL is simply a Dynamically Linked/Loaded Library, a shared library. Not Microsoft specific. It was called "DLL" instead of "shlb" or "shlib" or ".so" or ".sa" probably because such a name works on both Macs and Windows. The DLL idea didn't originate, nor was it taken from, Microsoft. = =20 Nor do DLLs necessarily mean large portions of Windows are being dragged onto the Mac. This particular code library has much more in common with Unix than Windows, per se, though since it is a standard (C/C++) library, Microsoft's Visual C/C++ will have a similar library. -- MattLangford=20 =3D=3D=3D=3D Want to unsubscribe from this list? =3D=3D=3D=3D Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to macperl-modules-request@m= acperl.org
