I've been getting more and more requests to get up-to-date modules on the MMP page (http://pudge.net/mmp/), and I just don't have the time to work on it, for a couple of reasons: 1. I have many things to do these days 2. That work cannot be leveraged directly into the MacPerl development work, since those shared libaries will not be compatible with MacPerl based on 5.6.0 So I write this note for two reasons. First, to note that anyone who wants to contribute to the MMP site is more than welcome. Just email me off-list and we can take care of it. Second, to note to those that don't know that any extra shared libraries you have now will not work with the next major release of MacPerl. They will need to be rebuilt. The initial focus of development will be on the core extensions, so for the first phases of testing, unless someone provides them, we will not have access to DBI, Storable, etc. Hopefully, we will have all or most of the currently ported libraries on MMP available for the next release by release time. But be aware that some might not be ported, and any that you or someone else has ported apart from what is on MMP might not be ported. -- Chris Nandor pudge@pobox.com http://pudge.net/ Open Source Development Network pudge@osdn.com http://osdn.com/ ==== Want to unsubscribe from this list? ==== Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to macperl-modules-request@macperl.org
