Thanks for your response John. I wouldn't think it'd be hard,
either. In the documentation for Dialogs.pm, there is a mention of a
"kItemDisableBit", which I'm guessing is designed to do exactly what
I'm looking for. However, there are two problems:
	1) There's no mention of how one would go about setting/unsetting
	   this bit for an item
	2) When I try to use it in the process of creating an item, the
	   machine just drops into MACSBug.

Anyone know if "kItemDisableBit" is what you need to use to disable
an item in a dialog box, and, if so, how it's used?

Thanks!

Ian
