[MacPerl-Toolbox] Geting info out of file

I need a little help.  I need to get into a file resources and pull out two 
things.  

1.  I need to pull out the text that is in the TEXT resource id 128.
2.  I need to open a pic out of the pict resource and get its height and width.

I am really trying, and I can get information about each resource, but it is 
not the ifo that I need.  Could someone please help?

If not, can you recommend a good book to read that might have my answers.
