[MacPerl-WebCGI] ODBC and Perl on the WWW

Hello,

I have a question related to the use of ODBC with Perl on the WWW. I have
set up a database and written scripts in Perl that incorporate SQL to
communicate with a MS Access database and it works great. I have some
freelance work coming up that will require more of this type of database
connectivity. My question is, how efficient is this type of connectivity
verses other options. Are there more efficient options out there and if so,
what are they?

Also, does anyone know if it is possible to set up the ODBC control panel
in Windows 95/98/NT to set the database source to a file on a remote server
(i.e. not local) such as pointing to it through a URL
(http://www.domainname.com/data/datasource.mdb).

Thanks in advance for any insight into this!
