It actually works just fine, at least with OS9.  I just this second 
ran a MacPerl CGI using Personal Web Sharing.

Right now, I'm working on a possible column on this topic for Perl 
Monthly (which Vicki and others should be getting a draft of 
shortly).  I'd be glad to add info from this to the FAQ, I just need 
to collect the time to figure out how the FAQ-O-Matic works.
