[MacPerl-WebCGI] Okey..what next?

Hello again,

I was having trouble with running a cgi search & perl on the ibook.
The script runs file on the UNIX platform.
Thanks to every one, i now have the correct version of MacPerl.
I have "saved as cgi" all the scripts, with the extentions .cgi
I have set the web server on with address of 10.0.0.0 pointing to folder MacintoshHD:WebRoot
The tcp/ip is set to apple talk, Manual set to 10.0.0.0
MacPerl running in background
Access the site thtough http://10.0.0.0/WWW/index.htm

I changed the local references from
/MacintoshHD/WebRoot/WWW to :MacintoshHD:WebRoot:WWW

I read conflicting references as to weather to save as .acgi or .cgi ?
The script uses mtsearch.cgi, vars.pl, layout.pl

I tried changeing the var.pl to var.cgi  and all references to var.pl    with no change.

When i access the site and run the search engine, i get the following:
    Diagnostic Output
#vars.cgi did not return a true value.
    File 'MacintoshHD:WebRoot:cgi-bin:Mtsearch.cgi'; line 15

So now i am at a loss.....I put copies of the files up if anyone has the heart to look at them and point me in a new direction...
the address is:
http://wncmarket.com/macperl/

Thanks you very much......
Best Regards,

Alvy
