It is customary when posting a message to most internet forums (including the MacPerl lists) to limit the size of your message to the specific problem. It is also customary when asking for help with an error in a program to SPECIFY the error. So, instead of writing your message the way you did, you should have a) included *only* the portion of code that you were having trouble with b) included the actual compilation error that Perl generated with that code.
