I have a client running Webstar 41. with MacPerl 5.2(?). We tried to get either a perl or cgi script to run, but to no avail. I would appreciate any tips to track down the problem. Here is what happened: When trying to run the script with "www.domain.org/cgi-bin/script.cgi" or "script.pl" it gave an error of "Error. Unable to launch ACGI application." MacPerl was running in the background. Using fetch, I checked the privileges on the cgi-bin, and they were set to owner r/w/x but no access for either group or public. I feel this is a serious problem, but we couldn't find a way to change them on the server. It only allowed R/W/RW accesses and setting public to R didn't change the fetch settings. I don't have telnet access or I would try that. I'm able to run these scripts under unix with no problem, but I don't have MacPerl here in the office. I plan to play around with it at home tonight, but any help would certainly be appreciated. I suspect that there could be either or both of two problems. The privileges settings through Webstar, and getting MacPerl to recognize the script in order to execute it. Help??
