Use Shuck to open CGI.pm and check out its features if you haven't already.
You may be tempted by some of its functions.

Spend a little time creating a very simple program that uses CGI.pm
exclusively to do some of the basic things you normally do 'the long way'.
You may decide to integrate only some of CGI.pm's functions into your style.
