MacPerl 5.0.6 ------------- What little feedback I've received on this release was generally positive. I am not currently aware of any crashing bugs, so this might be a candidate for a Sumex/Umich upload around the end of February. There are some known problems with my() variables - they don't work at file level and they don't work in the debugger. Much of this must have been fixed in the Unix releases between 5.001m and 5.002b3, but none of the post-1m releases so far seem to have been as stable as 1m (with the possible exception of 2b3), so I'm hesitant to upgrade my source. PCGI 07Feb96 ------------ I have not received any feedback yet on the latest CGI glue release. BBEdit Glue ----------- My general impression is that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I definitely must have some major bugs left there. OSA Perl -------- I resumed OSA work this week and I'm happy to report that yesterday, the all-Codewarrior compile yielded a component that ran simple scripts again. My current impression is that this version is much less crash-prone than last year's version was, but it needs about two more weeks of work to release. Please don't ask me for a prerelease version. Oh yeah... like last year's version, this one is PowerPC only, and I will *not* do an 68K version myself. Tim Endres is working on the CFM-68K compile, though, and I see no reason to believe that a CFM-68K version of the OSA component wouldn't be straightforward from the PowerPC version.
