Well, I hesitate to explain wht I know until you look at my code.  I have
released MacPGP.pm, which does a lot of AppleEvents.  It is available at:

I am also working on Anarchie.pm which works similarly, and is available in
beta on request.  Hopefully I will have a public beta on that within a
week.
