[MacPerl] using Comm.pl on Mac-Perl

I am trying to connect using Comm.pl to a telnet server on port 106. I
am using the sample script for client connection that comes with
Comm.pl.
However, the connection is not being made. Can anyone help me out, how
do I use Comm.pl to connect to a telnet server. And some some commands
to it, and quit.
