[MacPerl] mac telnet

is it possible to use MacPerl to provide interactivity via telnet?  i.e., 
can I write a MacPerl program that will accept telnet connections and 
allow people to chat, search, etc.?  I have no sense of (a) whether this 
is possible, or (b) how hard it would be.
