I have a new problem with a MacPerl CGI. It's cropped up now that the CGI in question is used continuously most of the day. I have a feeling it has to do with various CGIs competing for the single-tasking MacPerl app. Here's what happens... After working fine for several days the CGI in question starts returning no data. WebStar gives this message with each hit: Error -1701: Getting CGIreply string () At that point the "quit" button on the CGI stops working and we have to do a hard reboot of the server to recover. At one time I thought this was due to MacPerl quitting before the CGI transaction was complete. I had several automated scripts running at odd hours for site maintenance and they would quit (MacPerl::Quit(2)) when they were finished. Well, I shut them all down and the problem persists. Has anyone seen this sort of thing before? Any ideas how to fix it? I have a feeling that shortening the CGI timeout to 1 or 2 minutes might help. Thanks in advance.
