[MacPerl] Call for Submissions (slightly off-topic)

Fellow MacPerl afficianados:

As an internet professional, both self-employed and corporate-salaried, I
can attest first-hand to the frustration experienced daily by others like
me who are all too often called upon to defend the Macintosh as a
development platform. I fully believe in the superiority of the Mac in this
field, but I fear that the Wintel world is daily closing the gap, and I
cannot stand by and let this happen.

So I won't. I am establishing an online resource targeting internet
professionals who use the Mac OS as their primary development platform. The
site, called The Macintosh Internet Professional,is being created and
maintained by my company, Idol Hands Design (www.idolhands.com) as a
service to our community. It will deliver product reviews, tips and
techniques, freeware/shareware/demo downloads, and other relevant
information and resources.

www.macnetpro.com is being officially launched on November 1st. We're
looking for content from other internet professionals to really make the
premiere spectacular. Specifically, we're looking for brief (500 word)
product reviews, how-to articles (CGI, API, database connectivity,
multi-platform networking, cross-platform development using Perl, etc.),
and technology overviews.

Additionally, we're looking for freeware, shareware, and demonstration
applications from software developers targeting internet professionals, and
even applets, applications, and scripts from internet professionals
themselves. Please send mail to editor@macnetpro.com with any
questions or offers to help.

Please consider this request carefully, and think about what your
participation could do both for you and for the Mac community.

Thanks,
Corey Ehmke
Principal, Idol Hands Design
Editor, The Macintosh Internet Professional
