Hi, In writing recently to Lasse H Petersen I mentioned that the following script: $string = join("", map {chr} (128 .. 255)); @chars = split(/\w/,$string); print "$] $#chars\n"; would print non-zero results for $#chars for older MacPerls. I am happy to report that I just obtained a golden rare opportunity to retreive code from the internet beyond our firewall and can report that MacPerl_514r4 does indeed return: 5.004 0 for the above script. Hence my reference to the difference between MacPerl and others perl's regarding the \w regexp metachar no longer is relevant. Sorry to have confused you Lasse.
