:) I'm sorry.. I didn't know how else to explain it. Here's the story. I installed (originally) MacPerl 5.13r2 on my Mac IIci (is it *really* built for it?) In order to use the functions I wanted to use (I was needing CGI.pm) I downloaded CGI.pm 2.37(I forget which b ). When I finally referenced it properly, it told me that my version of perl was too old. So I upgraded to MacPerl 5.14r4. I download- ed the "_big_appl.bin" that's on Matthias' site. Things STARTED to work right with a really simple script I had been working on... as I built on the script, adding lit- tle things here and there, I'd be getting LOADS of "socket errors" and others, even though it would be returning HALF of the data. So I thought that things were much slower since I installed MacPerl5.14r4... I switched back to 5.13r2. Suddenly, I couldn't save my scripts as "CGI Script" anymore. The only option I had was "Runtime version" or "Plain Text". This wasn't working, so I RE-installed MacPerl5.14r4, RE-in- stalled CGI.pm2.37b*6*, and tried it again. NOW, all of a sudden, I'm getting a PAGE or more of errors that weren't there before when I was using MP514 and CGI.pm2.37... ????? What the heck am I doing wrong NOW? (and BTW, my supervisor and I are seriously questioning that we should be using a better computer as a server than a Mac IIci) Desperate, David Barro ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
