My interpretation of this is its Apple dev tools final concession to Metrowerks. Perhaps things will be different in the Rhapsody realm, but for MacOS development CodeWarrior is a vastly better deal than ETO. (I won't shed any tears here. Sadder perhaps is the demise of Motorola's compiler. In particular it would be nice for them to do a CWPro 2 version. I wouldn't argue with a version of MrC for CWPro either...) I could go into the tragic loss of potentially the greatest development environment ever lurking inside MPW, but I won't... Its slightly relevant to MacPerl in that the world could use a cross-platform graphical IDE (i.e. the IDE runs on Mac, Windows, and UNIX) that supported a standard tool interface. Of course such a thing needs a rock solid scripting language and the best extant candidate has a four letter name... -Z- ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
