Interesting... When I run Matthias' version, cancel out using either
CMD-period or closing the window and then try to run it a second time, I
get a new window that says:

  Out of memory
  Out of memory
  Out of memory
  Out of memory

If I try to run it a third time, MacPerl crashes with an Error 12.

I am running the CMF68K version of MacPerl 5.1.5r4 /without/ the patches.
Could that be the problem?

When I try to run the Michael Ziege <ziege@ito.umnw.ethz.ch> version of
this script, I can run it as many times as I want and it doesn't fail.

My environment: Mac Quadra 800, System 8, 32Meg RAM
