I does what it should do. So I hit command-L from the CGI script, and this gave me the MPCGI Log. This Log is attached to it. I made it a BBEdit file. The first part of the Log shows a correct reply. If this error occurs there is no '# Perl replied:' part in it. So MacPerl replies nothing, is my conclusion. Michael Schuerig noted last week that there is NO size-limitation in AppleScript/AppleEvents. So, is this a MacPerl limitation ? Mathias, can you say anything about this ?
