Howdy, Thanks to Rich Morin and everybody else at PTF for their efforts on the MacPerl cd-rom! Thanks to Matthias and everyone else who made the whole thing possible in the first place. Rich was kind enough to send me a copy of the MacPerl cd (v0.5), I think in an attempt to get me to stop sending anymore of my crazy comments about the upcoming book ;-) I got my disk all nice and shiny, and the thru-put I now get from my own personal CPAN archive is GREAT! :-) Full install of MacPerl 5.1.9r4. It just plain saves bandwidth, all the way around! Having the archives in all their commented glory makes learning the hows of perl easier, esp. for someone as ignorant as myself. It should prove to be a helpful addition to the forthcoming book. I still look forward to more from that effort, and *still* want to push for a section (longish appendix, even) about using Alpha and BBEdit as the editors of choice for MacPerl, and tricks for using them y'all may have up your sleeves. (Big thanks to Brad Hanson for his BBEdit toys--Cool). So for everybody I remembered here, and even for those I didn't--You folks rock! Thanks. BTW, I am not a paid shill for Rich, PTF, or anyone else. But I'm willing to be if the price is right... -- Greg Hanek ghanek@indiana.edu I am a Bear of Very Little Brain, and long words Bother me.
