[MacPerl] Making small scripts

Hi,

I have a question for anybody that could possibly help me. I am
still a beginner with
MacPerl and Programming in general. I have made some scripts, but most
of these
scripts are little programs. They aren't made to sort or tell me
anything about my system, or anything like that. The entire content of
the program is within the source code. Basically most of my scripts are
little menu driven programs to read poetry and
self help information. The problem is this: I have made these
programs, and they are
short. They only have about 5 - 10 menu choices to view text. But when
I make runtime versions, so that I have an application, the size of the
file is about 1.6 megs. I can make this same program in windows Pascal,
and the program will be about 35 K.
That is a considerable difference. I want to put some of my MacPerl
applications on my website so that people can download them and use
them. But, since I am a college student, and I don't know that much
about the internet, my homepage is hosted on Geocities. Which means I
have about 3 megs of space for myself. So, trying to put my MacPerl
applications on my webpage isn't really going to happen.

Is there any way to make MacPerl runtime versions that are under a meg,
or under 500K, or even lower than that?

-Mat
