Hmm... my mistake. Oddly, the first few postings I tried never made it into the mix, so I assumed (always gets me into trouble) that I needed to have the [MacPerl] keyword in my subject line, so I've been adding it myself (gee, I hope this doesn't confuse the 'major'). > You could ask the list members to put some string into their > outgoing mail, but people tend to have enough trouble changing > the subject line when the subject changes :-) Well, this was precisely what I was suggesting, but your point is a good one. I'm just thankful that no one on this list seems to feel the need to quote every line of every message in a recursive manner. Guess we shouldn't ask for miracles. > Matthias was suggesting actual separate lists (as was I). It's > the only technically feasible solution I know of... I can't disagree, technically. <WINK> Of course, then we'll have to deal with all the bitching about inappropriate cross postings... </WINK> All told, I think the system is working OK for my tastes. Most everybody is behaving themselves - there's not too many things that I find too off-topic and most people on the list are reasonably polite to the newbies and the slightly off-topic discussions. My vote is to keep one list... well, it would be if this were a democracy. jay ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
