A friend of mine who has done much Mac programming (though not much MacPerl) suggested specifying the centering in relation to the primary screen (rather than the to overall screen real estate in general). I, who have done more Perl but vanishingly small Mac programming, don't know if MacPerl can do this (but if the Toolbox can, I have a sneaking suspicion MacPerl can too :-) caution - peripherally related grumble ahead.
