Well, I didn't mean that it should be _based_ on SuperCard. Just _like_ it.
It would probably be an application with (Mac)Perl embedded, built with
PowerPlant.

Yes, but a complete self-contained application could be an advantage, IMO.
A solution with HyperCard would still require some scripting being done in
HyperTalk, which would (again IMO) not be as elegant as a pure Perl
solution. At least I don't see how it could.

Yes, I see that, now. (But it's perhaps not quite as high-level as I'd like.)

I hope to find some time soon to create Perl program with a Mac-interface
using MacPerl; currently I'm busy working on our Unix-server. With a 6
months old son, spare time has become a very scarce resource.
