The plans are quite far but that doesn't mean new scripts librarians aren't welcome, on the contrary. Please subscribe to scripts@perl.org by sending "subscribe scripts" in message body to Majordomo@perl.org. As your first message you could ask where we are now, I unfortunately can't say exactly (I am waiting just for the final results :-) > a revamped ports/ dir or a new bin/ dir for binaries for as many platforms > as possible (even UNIX ones). I realize that you may not wish to take over Well, I am still schizophrenic-paranoid over the UNIX binaries. First, they take a lot of space (there are dozens of binary incompatible UNIXes out there). Second, they are a security threat. I see my (and others') time much more well spent if UNIX vendors either (a) start supplying Perl with their OS (b) vendors supply the binaries in web. Please insinuate your nearest friendly UNIX vendors to include Perl with the next release of their OS. > the job of the scripts librarian, but would you please consider helping > Jarkko out?
