Kevin's note points up some areas of explanation that are missing on the Code Contributions page of the MacPerl pages; I'll get that updated to be more clear. Once should be sufficient. As you'll see with the form when you get there, you mark whether something is a module, a script, a fragment... Just make sure that the description of the scripts explains that you need the module. > I believe on CPAN the standard is to use tar and gzip to make > distributions, I don't think (but I've been wrong many a time before 8-) > this supports resource forks. How should I submit the scripts that use the > resource fork only blank CGI/droplet files for templates? My recommendation is plain text for anything that can possibly be sent as plain text. This allows people to view it within their web browser without requiring a download. Then they can save as a droplet themselves, of course. If something is already in droplet or runtime form (or a Mac binary that's perl related) and cannot be submitted as text only, please use Binhex to encode the file and protect it for thr upload/download. (My apologies; some of the the droplets from the CD are still not binhexed on the web site in the Contrib area and are therefore broken. I'll get to it. Really!) Stuffit is also good to make things smaller, or Compact Pro if that's your preference. These would have to be mailed as an enclosure because the form only takes text entries at present (like I said, we're working on an uploadable ftp location; we have to be _really_ careful with this; I've been burned on other projects). So, anything that can be submitted as text should be, with proper instructions for creating a droplet or whatever as appropriate. > Also is a make script required? No; it wouldn't help on the Mac anyway :-) Be sure to let us know if we can include your contribution on the next MacPerl CD! Recommendations for how to improve the contributions area of the MacPerl pages will be appreciated and taken under advisement.
