However, this is not as simple as it looks, because MacPerl does not free all memory allocated during a script execution: Some blocks are allocated once and then reused until MacPerl quits, and it would be intolerable IMHO if any of them came to reside in a temporary memory partition. It is not easy either to identify these long lived blocks. I'll think about this subject some more, however.
