[MacPerl] MacOS 8.5 Sherlock modules (partly-baked idea)

I know essentially nothing about the nature of Sherlock modules, so
please forgive me if this is a really silly idea.  That said, what
chance might there be to craft Sherlock modules in MacPerl?  If we
(read: one of youall :-) could come up with a relatively clean way
to do this, it might allow MacPerl hackers like me to prototype (at
least) interesting facilities.
