But I think you are right about entries into the Desktop database ... probably in the case of a tie in creation date, it then moves to most recent entry in the Desktop, which means that rebuilding the Desktop can change which one is called. >From Inside Mac: MTb 9-15 (PBDTGetAPPL): "A single call, with ioIndex set to 0, finds the application file with the most recent creation date."
