I'd like to just underscore a point Jay made and expand it a bit. I think Mac users are far more likely to be able to work across platforms -- perhaps out of necessity. For example, I think you learn pretty quickly about line endings, different character sets, different volume and path conventions and so on. I agree that we're likely to do perl on many platforms, but we're likely to do many things on many platforms.
