>We alive? > er...I am (considering the question non-existentially). you appear to be. ok. I have a question that may bring the lurkers out. I have a project that requires a significant amount of number crunching. this will happen on Linux, Win9*/NT, and Mac. I need to know if there are a) benchmarking programmes that can compare certain processes executed in different languages b) what arguments and (hopefully) impartial suggestions I might be able to garner about the speed of number crunching in MacPerl vs Python (I have to use a scripting language, and I assume that Applescript is out for this, as is Tcl/Tk) c) as this is a long-term project, if these are (*sigh*) any efforts being made to make MacPerl multi-threaded, and if so, when one might be able to expect any results. best a ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
