In the Perl tradition, TIMTOWTDI. If you have the more recent versions of FileMaker Pro or 4D, they both have built-in "web" publishing, which could do the trick. You could also use AppleScript to talk to FileMaker, but you will have to purchase a plug-in to have AS for 4D. You could purchase a 4D plug-in called Internet ToolKit (ITK for short, http://www.jca.fr/) and program your own custom protocol. With greater expense you could use an SQL server or "translator" such as Butler or 4D SQL (module for 4D--I(I think they still sell it), and use any of the many modules written for SQL access, but that seems like more work to me.
