Just the fact that is a "special case" is annoying to many people. Basically, it boils down to the fact that people like me and Paul spend a lot of time and effort convincing people to work with reasonable special cases, ones that are mandatory because of the platform specifics. Like no forking, no flocking, different newlines and paths, etc. It is too much to ask them, IMO, to do additional work because of something that is not really necessary because of the platform, like this. However, if it is decided that this should not change in MacPerl, then we need to add it to perlport and we need to notify people who check these values what they need to check against instead of what they currently check against. -- Chris Nandor mailto:pudge@pobox.com http://pudge.net/ %PGPKey = ('B76E72AD', [1024, '0824090B CE73CA10 1FF77F13 8180B6B6']) ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
