mySQL works just fine under LinuxPPC provided you've kept your glibc
up to date, since it neade working threads:

linux% ps auxww | grep mysql
root       204  0.0  0.1  2676    96  ?  S  Jan 14   0:00 sh /usr/local/bin/safe_mysqld -l --user=root
root       225  0.0  0.0  7900    20  ?  S NJan 14   0:00 (mysqld)
root       227  0.0  0.0  7900    20  ?  S NJan 14   0:00 (mysqld)
root       228  0.0  0.0  7900    20  ?  S NJan 14   0:00 (mysqld)
schinder 18269  0.0  0.4  1228   400  p3 S   13:02   0:00 grep mysql

That's mysql-3.22.14b-gamma, build from source with egcs-1.1.1. See

}
} Isn't Butler a Mac database that does SQL? There is a Butler.pm for
} MacPerl, too.
