Executive Summary The MacPerl Pages are now online as http://www.macperl.com. Please start using that address and letting me know about any problems you encounter. Assuming that the new regime doesn't crater in the next few weeks, we (the MacPerl user community) can start promoting the new name "in public". Some Background At Matthias' request, I registered macperl.com and macperl.org for use on his behalf. At present, both domains map to the same machine, web pages, etc. If Matthias decides that there should be a separate identity (e.g., for a non-commercial site) under macperl.org, however, all he has to do is give me the word. As you may already know, we (Vicki Brown and I) have been messing about with Apache, Sendmail, Virtual Domains and other (gasp) Unix administration issues, in support of making our site more robust and useful to us all. Now that this is (mostly :-) under control, it seems like a good time to make the MacPerl Pages more "official" (having an identity under http://www.ptf.com is a bit hokey...). If I have done everything right, the new address should just work, without hiccups, for both modern and (ahem) classic browsers. If you get peculiar results using ANY browser, however, please report it, in sufficient detail to allow me to reproduce the problem.
