Hi everyone, and Matthias, many thanks for developing one *very* cool app for the Mac. At this point, I guess I should provide some answers to Matthias' newbie questions as listed in the FAQ. (Requiste answers) I discovered MacPerl from a CPAN site (had been using perl on solaris previously) and downloaded the standalone application via ftp. I don't have MPW (which may explain the nature of my question), but have been using CodeWarrior for a long time. I had been planing to use MacPerl principally to write CGIs for various unix web-servers, but can now see the potential for many other uses... Specifically, my question is: for someone such as myself (no MPW experience, lots of C++ CodeWarrior experience) how much work is there is embedding a perl module, or any perl functionality for that matter, into a PowerPlant app? Can I achieve this without having to install/learn MPW or ToolServer? In any case, is there any Mac specific documentation? (other than perlembed etc.) Cheers, and many thanks, Chris -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris Dalton snail: GPO Box 252-65 Hobart Tasmania Doctoral Candidate email: Chris.Dalton@eng.utas.edu.au Computer Science phone: (61-3) 6226 2909 University of Tasmania fax: (61-3) 6226 2136 mobile: 019 979 721 http://bronte.cs.utas.edu.au/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
