Why do you say that? If it fits the published description it's as good as
any other assumption. It won't be long before we'll be talking about social
security becoming bankrupt in the mid 80's.

Micro$oft Excel simply assumes the current year for incomplete dates without
even allowing for a couple of months into the previous year. I'm used to it
now. It's 12/3/98 not just 12/3.

I get upset when computers want to change 4/24/35 (my birthday) to 4/24/2035
but I can understand why C++ programmers don't want to support us old farts.

Perhaps Apple software ought to pay attention to the Date and Time
preferences as set in the control panel. The MPW shell seems to.
